[FACEit] Vaseline has many more uses than you think

Where do I begin? Let’s start at the top of our body and work our way down with the Vaseline.

  • If you dye your hair at home you can use it to prevent dye from getting all over your forehead.  Just apply the Vaseline around your hair line before beginning the process.
  • Put it on your eyelashes before you go to bed.  It helps thicken and grow your lashes.
  • Use it as an eye makeup remover.  I roll a q-tip through Vaseline and use it to take off my mascara.  It works better than any makeup remover I have ever purchased.
  • It can be used as a lip-gloss.
  • Apply it to the apples of your cheeks for a dewy glow.
  • Rub it into your elbows to keep them moisturized much longer than your lotion.
  • Massage it into your cuticles to keep them from getting dry and cracked.
  • Put it on your feet before you go to bed.  Sleep with socks on.  This will keep your feet smooth and moisturized.
  • Apply it to perfume points before spraying your favorite fragrance.  It will keep the scent on longer.
  • Mix it with sea salt and you have a new homemade body scrub!

[FACEit] your eyes are the windows to your soul, so they deserve a little more love

1. Use a green, chamomile, or black tea bags on your eyes to get rid of the puffiness.  Soak them in hot water for a minute and then dip them into ice water before laying down and putting them over your eyes.

2. Thin, light eyebrows can add years to your face so FILL IN THOSE EYEBROWS!

3. Using a light coloured, metallic shadow on your inner corners and around your eyes for a wide-awake look.  This will attract light and brighten your eyes up!

4. Heat up your eyelash curler with your blow drier for 15 seconds before you use it.  Your lashes will not only have a better curl to them but the heat sets them for hours!

[FACEit] self-tanning towelettes are going to be your new favorite product!

Tanning, as well as its dangers, can be pretty pricey.  There are other ways to achieve the gorgeous glow you desire without the risk and I’ve tried more than a few.  My personal experiences:

The gradual tanning sprays, like Neutrogena MicroMist® Airbrush Sunless Tan (about $10), tanning usually go on clear and gradually get darker.
The drawbacks, if you happen to spray too much so the spray drips down your body, you won’t see it until the spray is dry and there is what looks like a tan dripping down your leg.  You can imagine that being a little embarrassing.
The benefits, you don’t have to worry about orange hands!

The lotions come in tinted and clear.  L’Oreal Sublime Bronze™ Self Tanning Gelee (about $10) is the lotion of choice for me.  It goes on clear and gradually gets darker.
The benefits, it dries quick enough that I can still apply it when I’m in a rush and know it will be dry in a few minutes for me to get dressed.
The drawbacks, my cuticles are ALWAYS orange.  I tried putting Vaseline on and around my nail beds before I used the lotion and washed my hands with soap immediately after but I still had orange cuticles.

Towlettes! L’Oreal Sublime Bronze™ Self-Tanning Towelettes (about $10) are my new favorite.  The benefits, they have the prefect amount of solution on them, no guessing.  It goes on even and dries within minutes.  I use Vaseline on and around my nail beds and wash my hands right after and NO MORE ORANGE CUTICLES!
The drawbacks, none so far, will update if I start to have any problems.

Tips: I apply normal lotion all over on days I don’t use the tanner to keep the color even and to keep my skin moisturized helping to extend the life of the tan.
